Welcome to our RTI family!
At Riverside Transport you are more than just a number–you’re family. We treat our drivers and employees with respect and acceptance. To create a safe, peaceful, and supportive working environment we have an Open-Door Policy that allows you the freedom to have complete access to our terminals, wander around our office, and speak with anyone at our company, including our Owner and President, Bill Grojean!
We have and enforce our Zero Tolerance Policy that is designed to help create and maintain a positive and healthy working environment for all members of our workforce.
RTI fully supports inclusivity and diversity and does what it can to promote the education and celebration of its employees whether you’re on the road, in an office, or working from home. We welcome all and would like to thank you for being part of our RTI family!
Family-style meals are something we do best–and frequently! Whether we’re catering in food, staff members are preparing it, or it’s from a visiting food truck right out our door, we love giving our office staff and drivers the opportunity to interact and connect freely. Our meals are completely free to all who attend. We can’t wait to see you at the next one!
SUPPORT AND CELEBRATE
All of our success is a team effort. For that reason, we love regularly celebrating the hard work our employees and drivers put into providing our company and customers with an amazing experience. These acknowledgments come from nominations provided by staff company-wide. Winners are announced on our Facebook page by our executive leadership team so we can share our excitement with everyone in or out of the office.
RTI SUPPORTS WOMEN
In an effort to outwardly show support for women in the transportation industry RTI currently supports S.H.E. Trucking, REAL Women In Trucking, and Women In Trucking.
Among our office staff, we have over 5 women in various leadership positions. We support these hardworking women and feel the rest of our industry needs to work on doing a more successful job of supporting women in the transportation industry.
We have 3 women who serve as our Brand Ambassadors and have 2 pink trucks driven by Brittney In Pink (Brittney Richardson) and Toya In Pink (Toya Cosby) who help share awareness for breast cancer. Our newest Brand Ambassador, Sharae Moore, is the C.E.O. and Founder of S.H.E. Trucking, an online community of women in the trucking industry that is approaching its 10,000 member mark.
RTI SUPPORTS VETRANS
RTI has long been supporters of those who are actively serving and those who have served. To honor these brave servicemen and women, RTI increases their pay per mile as a small way of showing our gratitude. We have several wrapped trucks to show our support and regularly updated our Honor Wall to show just how proud we are of our RTI family members who have sacrificed for our freedoms.
BREAST CANCER AWARENESS
Our Pink Brand Ambassadors work to share awareness and support of women and those who have dealt with the hardships breast cancer brings. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and we definitely like to show our support.
With the help of our sister company, Transco Lines Inc., our staff has raised more than $6,500 that was donated to help the funding of Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. Several members of our team worked to create shirts and participate in Kansas City’s Breast Cancer Awareness 5K Walk that took place early on October 28, 2019.
In response to COVID-19, Riverside Transport has taken all actions needed to promote and support the safety of all its customers, employees, and drivers. Immediate safety precautions were taken at our offices and awareness was shared. ReadyFleet provides free PPE kits to our drivers that includes gloves, masks, and disinfecting wipes. About twice a week our Kansas City location consistently has food trucks onsite providing drivers and staff with free lunch.
RTI assisted ALAN (American Logistics Aid Network) by hauling 330 cases of donated hand sanitizer from Michigan to Kansas City to help several of the Midwest’s Native American tribes with COVID-19 prevention.
FUELING OUR HEROES
During the world-wide COVID-19 pandemic of Spring 2020, we partnered with CDL Life through our Brand Ambassador Brittney In Pink (Brittney Richardson) in the nationwide Fueling Our Heroes Initiative that worked to deliver fresh meals to drivers by visiting various truck stops and areas for a length of two weeks. This project raised more than $33,000 and provided drivers all over our nation with more than 2,500 free and fresh meals.
Look at that smile! We were lucky enough to be involved with a local bike charity event in Detroit, MI with the help of our Michigan Target Team in December of 2019. We hauled bikes that were later given away to local children.
The Children’s Place is a local Kansas City charity that is near and dear to our hearts. We have donated gifts collected at our office that were then given to TCP to help with their holiday gift-giving initiatives.
At our Chattanooga, TN Brokerage, our staff members took it upon themselves to purchase gift items and put together shoebox packages for children in their local community in support of the Samaritan’s Purse annual Operation Christmas Child. We were able to donate over 80 individual gift boxes to improve the lives of children within our local area.
Members of our Owensboro, KY team worked with a local foster care agency and were given 5 children to provide with holiday gifts. We were able to get enough donations to make sure every child was provided with the gifts they requested, and we were lucky enough to have raised enough money to also provide them each with new outfits and shoes.
